Forgiveness

Ephesians 4:32(NIV) Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Dear friends, Forgiveness is one of the most important aspects of the Christian life. Jesus Christ came in to this world, took up our sins on Himself and was crucified so that God could forgive our sins and impart His righteousness to us. Our God is holy and righteous, and so cannot permit any sinner to enter heaven. But He also loves us and does not want to punish us for our sins. So, in order to justify us, and make us worthy to enter His kingdom, He sent his own Son to bear our sins and our shame once and for all. It is the Grace of God that provided this way out for us to be restored to Him. Once we accept and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary for our sins, and we acknowledge our sins and repent sincerely in prayer, we stand forgiven in the sight of God. But Jesus also said that in order for God to forgive our sins, we too need...

Contentment In Daily Life

His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3 The alarm bell rang as usual. I woke up to greet another routine day. Get up early in the morning, prepare breakfast, pack snacks for the children to have at school, pack lunch for my husband and myself to take to office. In between, wake up the children to get ready for school,(ignoring their pleas for five minutes more to sleep !) make them go down on time to catch the school bus, get ready myself and start on time to reach office punctually.   Back to home in the evening, do rest of the household chores and make everything ready for the next day. I hardly had any proper time in the morning to pray, so at times, I used to finish my prayers mostly on the way to work! This was my routine for the past several years. Now my children have grown up, they are away from home for higher studies.   When I think back, I...

Trusting God In Everything

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  (Proverbs 3:5) . Trusting someone needs a lot of faith in that person right? We don’t simply trust or take up by faith, a promise from a stranger. We need a close relationship with a person to understand their character deeply in order to trust them.  Most of us trust our parents, our siblings and our best friends. But, even they can sometimes fail us. Maybe not intentionally, but due to their limited human nature, they may not be able to deliver or keep up their promises as they desire, due to change in plans or circumstances beyond their control. There is only one person whom we can always trust and depend on to fulfill all promises. That is our loving, all powerful, benevolent Father in Heaven. He never goes back on His promises. We can always put our faith and trust in Him no matter what we are going through. Few years back, while I was working, we used to have a private bus for our daily...

Are You Joyful Or Happy?

Everyone wants to lead a happy life right? But can you be happy all the time? You are happy for some time when you receive or enjoy something which you have wanted or craved for. You are happy when you receive a promotion. You are happy when you buy a new car which you have wanted for a long time. You are happy when your child becomes first in class. All these and similar experiences brings you happiness for some time. For a day, or may be for a few months.  After that, you set your eyes on some other new craving, or achievement to bring you happiness. In short happiness does not remain constant.   It depends on the material things of this world. What about being joyful? Is this also variable? NO !  In the Bible JOY is written as a fruit of the Holy Spirit. ( Galatians 5:22 ). When we have Jesus in our hearts, we feel at peace and there is an inner joy which does not depend on outward circumstances. It is written in the Bible “……Let the joy of the Lord be your str...

God's Purpose For Our Life

Dear Friends, all of us are in a journey called life -from the beginning to its final destination. There are many different views about the origin of life. Some claim the theory of evolution, some claim life as the result of random fusion and explosion of energy .However it may be, can anyone explain how a human being came to be formed with the exact package of cells, tissues, muscles, organs etc needed for healthy life and growth? Also just imagine - all human beings are made up of exactly the same components inside, however none are similar on the outside. All of us are unique in our appearance, our fingerprints, voices etc. Can any random occurrence explain this  phenomena? Even most scientists conclude there must be a higher power involved controlling the whole universe, holding the planets, suns and stars in their orbits and appointed locations. This higher power is God- the creator of the whole universe including us mortal human beings- a mere speck on a small planet c...
