Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
(Proverbs 3:5).
Trusting someone needs a lot of faith in that person right?
We don’t simply trust or take up by faith, a promise from a stranger. We need a
close relationship with a person to understand their character deeply in order
to trust them. Most of us trust our
parents, our siblings and our best friends. But, even they can sometimes fail
us. Maybe not intentionally, but due to their limited human nature, they may
not be able to deliver or keep up their promises as they desire, due to change
in plans or circumstances beyond their control.
There is only one person whom we can always trust and depend
on to fulfill all promises. That is our loving, all powerful, benevolent Father
in Heaven. He never goes back on His promises. We can always put our faith and
trust in Him no matter what we are going through.
Few years back, while I was working, we used to have a private bus for our daily commute. In mornings, the traffic used to be really heavy. A twenty minute ride would take more than an hour. The driver had the responsibility to drop us at our office punctually. He would cut and weave through traffic. We used to hold on to our seats with thumping hearts at each brake and squeal of tyres. After a few weeks, we came to understand that we need not fear his driving. Whatever tactics he used, he was in control and would reach us on time. Slowly, most of us let go of our fear and used to sleep comfortably for the one hour rest we got during our commute! One day while sitting in the bus, it struck me that if we could trust this simple driver with our lives, how very much more we needed to trust our Creator, our God who loves us more than anyone else in this world. We trusted our driver because we could see him. We should also be able to trust our Lord and Saviour even if we cannot see Him with our physical eyes. Jesus, after his resurrection said to his disciple Thomas - “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”(John 20:29)
When we face difficulties, it is better to trust in God than
anyone else in this world. He is mighty
and able to deliver us from all our problems. He knows exactly what we are
facing and the best solution for it more than us. Nothing is
hidden from His sight.
Dear friends, if you are going through a difficult time, pray
for wisdom to handle it the way God desires. Seek His counsel. Do what you can
to solve the issue and then pray and leave it in His hands. Thank Him that He knows the best way to handle
the situation and He is working for you. He has promised us in (2 Chronicles 20:15) “Do not be afraid or
dismayed….for the battle is not yours but God’s”. He will fight our
battles. We only have to be still. When we trust Him, He will work in the most
unexpected ways to bring about a solution much better than we ever thought
possible, in His way and in His time.
Remember, long before you face a problem, God already has the plan. You only need to trust and have faith in Him.
