Dear
Friends, all of us are prone to be anxious about our children at each stage of
their lives. When they are in school, we worry about their safe transport to
and fro, we worry about their studies, or their health. When they are
teenagers, we worry mostly about their character- their obedience, peer
pressure, and conformity to social standards. When they are older, we worry
about their jobs, their marriage, family life etc.
But there is Good news !! we are not left alone to parent our children.
We don’t
have to fear what will happen to them because God has ordained the whole of
their lives and they are engraved in the palms of His hands.
All we
have to do for our children is to LOVE them, GUIDE them
and TRUST the one who loves them even
more than we do.
God’s
care for our children is always better than our control.
God has
gifted us with prayer – a way to communicate directly to the Most High God!
I hope
you’ll be encouraged by the powerful prayer here from Bible verses, which I
pray over my children every morning. As you read God’s Word, you can do
this too! Declare these verses out loud for your children!
Dear Lord, I come before you about _________ (insert your child’s
name).
May
______ choose life so they he/she may live and love the Lord, listen to his voice,
and hold fast to him (Deuteronomy 30:20).
Your word
says in Psalm 1:1, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the
wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of
mockers.” May __________ have the power to walk away from the wicked and
not to hang out with kids who will corrupt good character.
May _______know
what You, Lord require of him/her, to act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly
with You.(Micah 6:8)
Have
mercy on _________ O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your
great compassion, blot out his/her transgressions (Psalm 51:1-2).
Lord may _______ speak
gracious words to family and friends because gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones (Proverbs 16:24).
May
________ not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present his/her requests to God. And may the
peace of God which transcends all understanding, guard ________’s heart and
mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
Give
______ boldness as You Lord are his/her light and salvation. You are the
stronghold of his/her life, of whom shall he/she be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).
Let us pray
Lord
Jesus, children are a heritage from you. Thank you for the comfort that comes
from knowing You are in control of the whole world including the lives of our
children. We entrust them in to your care Father. All glory, honour and praise
belongs to You. In Jesus Almighty name we pray. Amen
